Home Siding Color Trends: Fall 2025

2025 Color Trends Vinyl Siding Contractor Madison WIOne of the top functions of siding is to protect your home from the elements. Well-made siding — be it vinyl, cement, composite, wood, or hardboard — can go a long way in keeping your home cozy, no matter what the temperature is outside.

That said, shouldn’t it look nice, too?

The good news is that there are a multitude of color options and textures these days for siding. Certainteed, one of the top vinyl siding brands in the USA, has nine distinct color categories —  with 150 color options, in all. And since we’re a Certainteed 5-Star™ Vinyl Siding Contractor, we get to see many of these colors first-hand when installing new siding for homeowners.

Whether it’s simply for personal enjoyment of your home, or to increase curb appeal for a sale, it’s important to understand your siding color options.

To begin, we’ll jump into top siding color categories before looking at colors that can increase resale value, colors to avoid when selling, and finally a look at some of the hottest vinyl siding colors for the fall of 2025 …

THE TOP SIDING COLOR CATEGORIES

These color categories can help you narrow down color selection, and help align your color search with an overall aesthetic preference.

  • Contemporary Neutrals: This category highlights subtle undertones like greige (a color between beige and gray) blends, taupes and radiant whites. Like the category implies, these are neutral colors that pair well with a wide breadth of roofing and trim colors.
  • Naturally-inspired Warm Pigments: Here we’re looking at less neutral colors like muted ochre, terracotta, and clay.
  • Theatrical Darker Shades: These colors are definitely more of a statement. Beautiful and deep, they include charcoals, deep navy and forest greens.
  • Terrific Two-tones: Color selection here has a fairly large range, with the two tones working in a complimentary color palette that is both distinct and harmonious.

IF YOU ARE SELLING, CONSIDER COLOR TO MAXIMIZE VALUE

Neutral siding colors are typically timeless, providing a better return on investment than colors that are more trendy. These include softer whites, grays, and beige that is on the warmer side.

If you are seriously looking to sell, it’s worth considering staying away from more on-trend colors, but ultimately it’s up to you. Some homeowners prefer to attain as much resale value as possible, while others prefer their home to be more distinct, so please look at these suggestions as guidelines and not absolute rules.

On the flip side, there are some colors you’ll want to stay away from when you’re looking to sell. These include vivid purples, intense yellows, and non-conventional greens.

That said, there are some on-trend colors that stick around for quite a while, or simply don’t turn off buyers as much as other colors. Working with an experienced (and licensed) siding contractor can help you determine what these colors are. This becomes especially important if you are on the fence about selling but still need new siding. The last thing you want to do is pick a color you don’t love if you’re not definitely going to sell. Our team can even show you digital samples of what your home will look like with different vinyl siding colors — and it’s a lot of fun!
